1977 RollsRoyce Silver Shadow II
1977 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow II was lighter, faster, and better handling than any Rolls Royce produced before it. The 200hp V8 along with GM’s Hydramatic 350, 3 spd, automatic Transmission makes for a serious cruiser now just as it did then in 1977. Standard along with the 3 spd transmission are, 4 wheel disc brakes, and power windows. The rear suspension is self leveling based on the Citroen DS-19 suspension system.
65% of all Rolls Royce vehicles that were produced are still on the roads today. The Silver Shadow II we have is one of those 65% and because the care that was given from it’s previous owner was second to none, getting it to stand tall as it does didn’t require a lot. Garaged throughout its entire life, most of the paint is original and in excellent condition. Its my understanding that the previous owner had the car clear coated, wet sanded and buffed to protect and bring back the beautiful Acrylic White paint. All door pulls, chrome trim pieces, and call outs are new. Rear lens covers, and side markers are new. The original hubcaps and wheels are wrapped in fresh Cooper 15″ tires. Looking underneath is a solid floor, no patch work. The exhaust was recently replaced along with most wear items such as rubber boots, brakes, brake lines, etc.
Inside you’ll find all new fresh leather seating, excellent looking dash with the original leather dash pad. All of the instruments are original and win excellent condition, noting 84K original miles on the odometer. New carpet, headliner, door panels and chrome hardware. THE CLOCK EVEN WORKS, which pretty much gives you a good indication of how well kept and how nice this Rolls Royce is today.
As for the performance; Start up on first turn of the key. The car runs out well, idles like a champ, and will get you down the road fast. Mechanically the Rolls Royce is a fine running vehicle that grabs a lot of attention and loves compliments. Smooth running, smooth riding. Just an all around smooth, solid car.
