Beautifully optioned an very rare Freestone & Webb Limited coach built Bentley! One of only 13 produced, and this is believed one of the very last! A great investment into a splendidly restored example! It performs as equally well as it looks! A truly elegant sedan from an ultra-luxury marque! The art of true coach built cars was all but lost post-World War II making truly unique, personalized vehicles harder to find, or too expensive to manufacture. In England, ultra-luxury Rolls Royce and Bentley were now offering a complete car built in-house for the very first time reducing the number, and necessity, to sell chassis-only units to external coachbuilders. A long time private coachbuilder for Bentley & Rolls Royce named Freestone & Webb Limited, best known for their β€œTop Hat” style design, was still high on the list for an elite number of private individuals. Freestone & Webb celebrated 9 consecutive Gold Metal honors in the private category at the London Motor Show exhibits over the years. The Top Hat look became known as the Razor Edge style in publications and is distinctly recognizable! Freestone & Webb only produced approximately 15 or so vehicles each year, making all of them very special to collectors today. In 1957, the new Bentley S1 was introduced, and was continued to be offered in a chassis-only purchase option. Only 13 proud owners took advantage of this option, and Freestone & Webb produced a truly gorgeous Saloon! It would be the last offering by Freestone & Webb Limited after 35 years of successful coachbuilding. We believe this stunning example, body #1825, to be one of the very last they built! We are very pleased to represent this 1957 Bentley S1 Freestone & Webb Saloon finished in gorgeous two-tone Metallic Blue over Magnolia leather interior with Blue piping and rugs. Options include original 4.9L Inline 6 cylinder engine mated to an advanced 4-speed automatic transmission, air conditioning, power steering, power-assisted drum brakes, Smiths instrumentation, rear picnic tray tables & adjustable reading lamps, front passenger vanity mirror hidden the glove box, dual exterior fender mounted mirrors, front badge bar proudly displaying Rolls Royce Owner’s Club medallions, and upgraded Am/FM/Cassette radio mounted discretely under the center dash.
